The Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves movie was one pleasant experience for me. Last year, me and my sister went to a movie theatre with no particular movie in mind. I saw the poster for The Lakehouse and told my sis that the actors alone are enough enticement for me. Although when I saw the title of the movie I initially thought that it might turn out to be a psychological or horror movie. Fortunately, it wasn’t and judging from the opening credits alone I know that I was in for a special treat.
I love the story, the actors, the music, the cinematography…I fell in love with it, the unrealistic and illogical explanations of why and how it happened. The magic of time and love. I thought it was an original concept but later on I found out that it was based on a korean movie done back in 2000 called Il Mare.
I accidentally again stumbled into this movie when I was surfing the net. I haven’t watched the korean version yet. I will try to find a copy though and watch it this week.
Which is better or is the story too much alike for us to even compare them? It’s a remake! Of course the story will be the same, geez…I’m not making sense here. Anyway, anyone of you kindly give me a feedback if Il Mare’s as good as The Lakehouse.
The OST of The Lakehouse is what it made it more beautiful. It helps me sleep nowadays and of course the you-know-what OST.
Give me a shout if you have any feedback regarding Il Mare. Thanks in adv!
