I am building a new home which is practically the same as this one although I am trying to make it better than this, hopefully. I will still continue writing for this one…hahaha…I know I have not written any lately…too many distractions!

However, my new home is at http://asiandramaaddict.com or you just simply click here.

It may be down sometimes because I am still trying to organize and fix things. The whole COFFEE PRINCE recaps are already there and I am on the process of trasnferring HANA KIMI. I am painstakingly transferring the posts manually for God knows why… it will take too many hours for me to tell you all about it anyway you are all invited to go over there…I hope I can fix it before the month ends…

See yah!

The last installment of the hit JDorama Hana Yori Dango which came out last month in the form of a movie entitled Hana Yori Dango Final, instead of just a TV drama was a welcome change for their fans. This is the first time that Inoue Mao acted on the big screen.

I kept on surfing the net for ripped videos of the film but I can’t find one. I am a bit rusty these days. The hibernation took a lot of my net “instinct”.  There were reports that it will take a few months before we get to see the DVD version of the movie. Maybe that is the reason why I can’t get any video around, although I will not be suprised if there are a lot of pirated copies that will surface anytime soon or maybe it’s already out there…i know you guys are so excited but pls buy the original…hmmnn… 🙂

Here are some of the wedding pics that I found from the net:

After watching Horikita Maki in Hana Kimi I tried looking for her previous work with english subtitles but I had a hard time finding a complete series subbed up to the final episode. Fortunately, my sis were able to get hold of this series she made back in 2006 called Teppan Shoujo Akane also known as Teppan Girl.

I am still holding my judgment since I am still in Episode 2. Although, it involves cooking so I am quite partial to it already.

Anyway, here’s the background info about it after googling it from the net.

Kagura Akane (Horikita Maki) is the only daughter of a family who runs a teppanyaki place in downtown Tokyo. Akane had always been proud of her father Tetsuma, who was called the “No.1 teppanyaki chef in Japan.” Growing up in such an environment, she naturally acquired “teppanyaki skills.” However, when her mother died of illness, her father lost his energy to work and disappeared. Since then, Akane has managed and protected the restaurant all by herself. One day, out of the blue, she is visited by Erena (Katase Nana), the rich daughter of a major food company, who orders Akane to move out at once because her father had borrowed money against his restaurant. Though feeling disappointed, Akane makes up her mind to close the store. But when her father’s friend, Kurogane (Jinnai Takanori), shows her “Ittetsu,” a grilling plate that Akane’s father cherished, it reignites her passion towards teppanyaki.

In order to protect the restaurant, she embarks on a journey with Shinta (Tsukamoto Takashi) to search for her father, but wherever she goes, she ends up getting involved in culinary battles. “–TBS”  (source: wikipedia)

It has 9 episodes and was aired in October of 2006 up to December of the same year over at TBS in Japan.

I did feature this manga last year when I was trying to ease my boredom for lack of anything interesting in the drama field. There were people who asked me if there is a live action series based on it and during that time there was no indication if somebody is interested to do it or there were no press releases yet.

It is a quite popular manga and so I am not surprised that they made a TV series out of it. For full synopsis of the story, click here, but that is if they will strictly follow the manga plot.

Zettai Kareshi TV Poster

Main Cast:

Hayami Mokomichi as Tenjo Night
Aibu Saki as Izawa Riko
Mizushima Hiro as Asamoto Soshi

I am not that familiar with Japanese actors but I can recognize the two male leads. The one playing as the perfect boyfriend, the robot or Tenjo Night starred in Gokusen 2 back in 2005. The other guy Mizushima Hiro is definitely Hana Kimi’s dorm leader Nanba Minami. It is a love triangle obviously with a twist. How can one compete with a perfect man, he is a robot for god’s sake.

It is currently airing over at Fuji TV. I am not so sure if you can watch it live streaming in the net. Anyway, fans now are so fast in sharing their videos so just check it out in the different video sharing sites.

If you are one of those who clamored for a sequel of this cute jdorama, thank your lucky stars because your wish had been granted…well sort of.

Instead of another season or a full 12 episode drama series, the producers opted to just give the fans just a two night special taking off just after Chiaki and Nodame’s graduation when they left for Europe. The first night will focus on Chiaki’s journey to become a great conductor and the second night will center on Nodame’s goal on being able to play the piano for Chiaki.

chiaki and nodame

The people behind the succesful jdorama promised that it would be more romantic and funnier than the original series. I don’t doubt it since it has a european backdrop although I don’t expect it to be better because it is very rare that the original can be topped.

For those who are addicted to this jdorama, check this site:

The blogger is a 100% loyal fan of NC. This blog is a goldmine for NC fans. You can find practically anything and everything about Chiake and Nodame’s world. The video and audio links as well.

This is a Japanese film adaptation of Ichikawa Takuji’s novel “Renai Shashin: Mo Hitotsu no Monogatari” released last year.

The story is a familiar one. Two school outcasts, Shizuri played by Aoi Miyazaki and Makoto played by Hiroshi Tamaki. Both are shy, hangs out by themselves, met on orientation day, clicked instantly and became friends. She fell in love with him but he is in love with someone else.

Makato shared his love of photography with Shizuri as well as his fascination with taking pictures at Heavenly Forest, a secluded area with a “No Trespassing” sign. This became a private, secret sanctuary for them.

He gained confidence and was able to get closer to his crush, Miyuki, who is (of course) a beautiful, more popular girl from a cool crowd. They got closer and closer so Shizuri was relegated to be the third wheel of the equation. Sounds familiar, super major cliches? Ready to brush it aside and move on to the next DVD? (more…)
