Most of the netizens already know what I meant by “googled it” but for the sake of “whatevers”, it refers to obtaining information on the web by using the Google search engine and due to its popularity and dominance for the past 10 years or so, both the Oxford English and Merriam-Webster dictionaries added it as a verb in their records. Although the Google owners tried putting a stop on it for fear of losing their trademark so now you have two words the Google and the google, the uppercased and the lowecased. Back in 2006, Google Inc. made a public plea to use the word google when referring to the Google Search Engine and their products and services. But you can’t stop the netizens anymore because nowadays when you say: “Go on and google it”, it means go and search the world wide web, doesnt matter if you are using Google or not. Whew! That is a mouthful.
Back to normal programming…
I love surfing the net and discovering so many amazing stories, real or fic, short or long, extremely funny, downright sarcastic, outrageous, unbelievable, incredibly touching or terribly horrific. It is as if you are travelling the world and learning about different cultures by just clicking your mouse. Pretty awesome, right?
And so this page will focused on the what, the where, the who, the why and the how of my everyday googling.
